THE STORY BEHIND THE TITLE
One life.
More than
one version.
These songs began with special people and moments I wanted to keep alive.
In 2026, a birthday, a birth, weekends, evening catch-ups and morning teas became lyrics, then songs. So did reflections on life and difficult moments in relationships—a way to preserve what they meant, and share it with the people who inspired them.
I’m a husband, dad, son, brother, friend and grandfather. Each role reveals a different version of me. My daughters share so much of their character, yet each is her own person. The songs bring these versions together through love, friendship and family as the generations grow and change.
I’m not a musician. Technology is familiar ground, and AI has opened a new creative outlet for my words and experiences. I’ve worked hard to match each lyric to its style, melody and mood, and to the version of me behind it.
The table runs through the album: meals, games, conversations and time together. In Room for One More, another chair welcomes my first granddaughter—a place at the table, and in our lives.
A light left on means home, safety and an enduring welcome. Where North Is asks us to recognise what truly guides us when “there are a thousand lights that look like home”.
The title lives in the recordings too: the same song can have different voices and arrangements, just as two people can carry different memories of the same relationship. As you listen, I hope you’ll hear the care in each song and the threads joining them.
There isn’t one definitive version of who we are.
They all are.
